Beyond the seaside

Sardinia is famous all over the world for its marvellous coastline and pristine waters. Every year million of tourists visit this beautiful island, and they keep amazing memories of it.

Sardinia has been identified as the Maldives of Europe, but does its beauty truly relies only on its beaches?

In the middle of the island is an other paradise for nature lovers: Gennargentu National Park. Situated around the provinces of Nuoro and Ogliastra, it is home to the dramatic Gorroppu Gorge (often called Europe’s “Grand Canyon”).

The enchanting forests in the park are home to rare wildlife and preserve an ancient charm as its traditional mountain villages speak of an authentic Sardinia.

This area of the island has remained far from the tourists radar for a long time, but it is undoubtedly a gem to be discovered and by all means respected as its real beating heart of this alluring land.
